Therapeutic Energy Healing uses a different approach to healing the past and moving us towards our future potential than most other energy healing systems. Here are two important points that are helpful to understanding your work with Dean or with a Relational Energy Therapy graduate.
We examine the past in order to put it into a new perspective that is helpful and productive for the client, rather than energizing any reminder of past events, or deepening emotional fusion with others. In order to invite change from the impact of our past we must first share that experience with another, and then re-engineer the assumptions placed upon how the past has defined us.
Therapeutic Energy Healing examines the past in order to put it into a new perspective that is helpful and productive for the client, rather than energizing any reminder of past events, or deepening emotional fusion with others. In order to invite change from the impact of our past we must first share that experience with another, and then re-engineer the assumptions placed upon how the past has defined us.
For instance, if we have a past event that elicited shame on a choice we made years ago, we start the process of healing by identifying the value of the experience in awakening us either to the choices available, to our personal preferences, or to the agenda of another person. Our looking into the past is to highlight the choice we made, or the option we took because that seemed to be the right one, or the moral one, versus the many other choices available. Relational Energy Therapy looks to awaken our emotional and cognitive energy body to individual choice, rather than towards compulsions or options forced upon us by others.
This leads into our goal in therapeutic energy work, which is the development of the astral body, otherwise known as the emotional body. The emotional body is that which emerges through our efforts at individuation, and is relational in nature, in that it only appears through our experiences when we are relating to others, as well as to ourselves. We are not an inner observer self only looking out of our eyes, and observing the world: our emotional body grows through interactions and relationships with others, building upon personal preferences and natural inclinations.
The growth and development of the astral body, and the impact of the chakras or energy centers that create the astral body, leads us, again and again, into new territory of our humanity, as well as defining our interaction with others. When we heal the past we look back in time to uncover the lost elements of astral/emotional body development that was available to us, but we missed or botched that particular developmental lesson.
It’s the equivalent of re-taking a school exam, the second time around, after you have had time to fully examine the question being put to you that is a test of your knowledge. But rather than identifying with being a failure because you didn’t get the exam right the first time, our therapeutic efforts go into “taking the school exam a second time”, but now with the focus to develop ourselves as an emotional being, one who has preferences in outcome. Our self esteem or inner value should not come from getting everything right the first time around, but rather from our therapeutic efforts to understand what happened: why we made certain choices, and what this implies for our options in future events.
Now our meaning and value as a person is rooted in our emotional body development, honed and tested in relationships with others, and not defined by single event in our life.
The second way in which Therapeutic Energy Healing enhances the healing of the past is to energize or reduce the emotional energies that have accumulated over time in the auric energy body. When a habitual pattern is formed in the emotional body, it needs both cognitive insight to see it with new eyes, as well as an energetic shift that supports our passage from the habit and into the new possibilities available to us. This is the reason we engage in astral body clearing: energetic frequencies that stimulate the growth process from identification with the habits of the past, and allow for movement towards new and better choices for us in the present, and the future.
Astral or energy body clearing has always been a part of shamanic and energy healing skills. The shamanic or magical protective talisman, for instance, anchors the person using it into a new reality where instead of being subject to “evil” forces, they are insulated from them. Similarly, energy healing frequencies pass on to the client the options that are available to their own energy body, and encourage their astral body to explore those choices for themselves, rather than unconsciously maintain the energetic habits of their past.
These learning choices are fundamental to therapeutic healing and any opening towards our future potential, because they emphasize the changing nature of our emotional body as it naturally progresses from the narratives of the past, into the new and more awakened options available to us in the present, and in the future. Relational Energy Therapy seeks not only to clear away the stories of our past so as to alleviate our suffering, but also to have the client awaken to many other possibilities already preexisting within their auric energy body.
The astral or emotional body is the golden key that unlocks the potential in each of us, because the process to awaken creates the conditions every individuating being needs in order to know the difference between how other people want us to be, and the creative author of our own lives that we actually are.
In many spiritual traditions, the process of uncovering our unique individuated essential self was viewed through the lens that placed the blame upon our humanity, judging us based on our “mistakes” made during the learning process. They demand that we need to transcend that humanity so as to realize a state of divine perfection. But our approach here is to see each past and present mistake, every choice made by us, as nutritional fuel that builds and develops our emotional energy body, along with its cognitive self awareness.
Relationships create opportunities, and the growth of our emotional energy body is dependent upon processing and clearing our relationships: with others, past and present, as well as with ourselves.
