This is an edited transcript of a Video Conference Tutoring session with Dean Ramsden and Luella, a Canadian Energy Healer, that took place on September 23, 2009
Dean Ramsden (in SE Asia) is working with Luella (in Winnipeg, Canada) via Skype.
Luella: “Hello Dean, how are you?”
Dean: “Good to see you! How are you?”
Luella: “I’m fine.. and Helen (her practice client) is right here beside me.”
Dean: “Hello Helen; nice to meet you.”
Helen: “I’m a Skype newbie… this is my first time!”
Dean: “Great! I think you will find Skype is a great way to connect these days!”
Anyway, our intention here today is to have a practice client session… Helen, Luella is going to do a healing on you, and I’m going to be talking over her shoulder and give her an idea of how the cord work I do is helpful.. and able to be integrated into her healing practice.
However, Helen, your needs for your healing and transformation are very much at the forefront, so it’s not that you are lying there passively.. we really do want to address and support your journey… and support what the next step is for you.”
Helen: “So you’d like me to stay present (rather than not pay attention)?”
Dean: “This is actually a judgment call for you, and for Luella as your healer. I think each (practice) client is different, and have different needs… I think Luella is going to be the “point” person on this.. as I don’t know you very well.”
Helen: “Would you like feedback from me?”
Luella: (Jumps in quickly): “I would appreciate feedback! I found it really useful in the other sessions we have done is to get feedback (from the practice client) as we are going along.”
Dean: “OK, just a couple of more things. We are focusing today on Mother Cord issues. And I have Helen’s pre-session emails, and thank you for prepping me in advance of the session. It allows me to know a little bit of your history and, obviously, there’s a lot more I could know.. but it gives me a small glimpse into which direction your personal growth and your healing journey has taken you.
This kind of energy work is designed to zero in – and support – a client moving through an issue, rather than to tear the issue apart, or do expressive work, or do all the deep exploratory therapeutic work… it’s designed to open up the “nut” of the issue, so that the seeds inside start to sprout.”
Helen: “Yeah. And since I consciously decided to do some releasing work with my mom I don’t think it will be as difficult as I imagine it will be. I’m really ready for this.”
Dean: “The idea of relational cord work is, to first and foremost, start to get the main relationships in our lives more clear, more defined, more… available to our consciousness, so that any process work we do goes more smoothly. In relational work I don’t do that much processing.. I’m mostly focused on where the energetic plumbing may be clogged, or damaged… or where the cords are knotted up… or (to switch metaphors) where are they wired into something they shouldn’t be wired into. So, the idea is that once your energy-consciousness system has a clearer access to whatever is coming through your mother cord (or any cord), or whatever is wanted to be transmitted to your mother (from you)… that this natural process finds it’s level, it’s expression, and then integrates in the way it was designed to integrate, so that you can start to evolve to the next level of your life.
Of course, at the age of fifty our relationships with people are changing rapidly, far more than with younger people. In midlife there is a big shift in consciousness. Our relationships are shifting and changing… we are losing people to death or accidents.. we are more cautious about forming new relationships.. relationships take on a greater value…and we become more discerning. So there is a lot going on in the fifties
So, I’m going to guide Luella through the process of working with your mother chakra cord, Helen, but hopefully the outcome will be that the connection with your mother will somehow move to a new understanding, a new integration, a new “let-go”… we as healers don’t know what you need, but we assume that in your Higher Self, your Soul Identity, that there is an ideal outcome… a place in you where your heart, your soul, your mind can bring together your relationship with your mother and internalize it; make it deeply meaningful to you. Especially as your mother is at an advanced age (Helen’s mother is 90 years old) this is one of our last chances to connect to the physical parent because once the mother is in spirit it’s a different ball game… we don’t’ have them to wrestle with.
So let’s get started…”
HELEN LIES DOWN ON THE MASSAGE TABLE WHICH IS SET UP IN FRONT OF LUELLA’S COMPUTER VIDEO CAM, AND LUELLA STANDS TO HER SIDE, FACING THE VIDEO CAM SO DEAN CAN SEE EVERYTHING.
AS THE CLIENT GETS COMFORTABLE, LUELLA ASKS A QUESTION FROM THE PREVIOUS SESSION, WHERE DEAN SUGGESTED THAT SHE ASK HER CLIENT TO HOLD AN IMAGE OF HER MOTHER IN HER MIND AS A WAY TO ASSIST THE HEALER IN FINDING THE MOTHER CORD.
Luella: “I have a question about the image the client holds. Does it have to be a positive image, or can it be a negative image, of their mother? Does it matter?”
DR: “I think it does matter… ideally it should be a nurturing image, because that is what the inner child is going to respond to… but until we really know a client’s personal history we should be cautious (about making assumptions). As we know, many clients have had challenging relationships with their parents.. these relationships may be problematic, they may be split, there may be two or three inner “mother” images… so I think at the initial stages (of cord work) anything that comes to mind for the client is going to be a good way for them to connect.
Now, the client can also bring a photograph of the mother… be creative with this material, and see what works for you. But as long as the client feels an emotional contact with the mother and is able to hold some kind of picture in their mind (or a memory of the last time they were with the mother) it forms a magnetic link.. or like an email link that guides us, as psychics, to the targeted person… and once we have the connection the client can let go of the memory.
So, Luella, before you begin you can assess Helen’s field.. and today we are just going to focus on the lower chakras: Muladhara, Swadhisthana, Manipura… the chakras where the mother cord presence is very strong. Now, given all your other training what do you perceive to be going on with Helen’s mother cord?”
LUELLA HAND-SCANS HELEN’S CHAKRAS.
Luella: (after a minute) “I can’t say I do, right at this moment.”
Dean “OK, not a problem”.
Helen: (volunteering information to Luella): “My mother has a particular thing she does… I know exactly where she hooks in (to me)”. Helen points to her solar plexus area. “She aims straight for that spot.”
Luella (to Dean): “In that case, would you start with the solar plexus chakra, or would you start with chakra one, chakra two, chakra three.. ?”
Dean: “If I was training a novice healer we would go sequentially up the chakras, because it is actually easier for them because of the lower vibrations of those chakras help ground the healer.. but you have done a lot of work on yourself, you’re an advanced healer, so we could go straight to where she (Helen) is pointing. My assumption is always that the client knows their field much better than I can ever know it.
However, in this case, to really help you get a grasp of the basic chakra cord work I you want to focus on the mother cord connections, especially in Swadhisthana chakra. So let’s go there first, and then we’ll do some work further up.
So, begin the healing by first connecting to the outer level of Helen’s auric field.”
LUELLA STANDS A METER AWAY FROM HELEN AND EXTENDS HER HANDS TO TOUCH HER ENERGETIC BOUNDARY.
Dean: (watching Luella working): “That’s great, Luella, now really stretch your energy fingers around the outer boundary of Helen’s field… I see you are running more energy than at our last session…very nice. And also, along with your energy hands, imagine that you have wings, and that they wrap all the way around your client’s auric boundary. Good: you are now a four-handed healer!
So, these four connections you are making (with Helen) are strengthening, and supporting her outer auric container.”
LUELLA SLOWLY MOVES INTO THE SACRED CONTAINER CREATED AROUND HER CLIENT, AND METAPHORICALLY CLOSES THE “ELEVATOR DOORS” BEHIND HER AS SHE STEPS FORWARD. SHE NOW MOVES TO HER CLIENT’S FEET, IN PREPARATION FOR CHARGING UP HER ROOT CHAKRA.
Dean: “For relational energy work grounding is not so much about “pulling” the client into the earth but is there to create safety and strength – and an anchoring charge – in Muladhara chakra. So you (the healer) open up your own root chakra, feel the power running through and down into the earth, and extend that connection up into the client’s legs.
Good.. you now have a strong and steady current running up her legs, and into Muladhara.
Now, you can actually (with your mind) guide the prana up her legs, and into Helen’s tailbone where Muladhara chakra exits. It’s like you are holding a wishbone… and the tip of the wishbone is positioned in the middle of her tailbone.
Good, good.. and if we had more time you’d do that for five to seven minutes, and really charge up the root chakra… now take a breath, release, and move up to Swadhisthana chakra.”
LUELLA MOVES FROM HELEN’S FEET TO STAND NEXT TO HER BODY, EXTENDING ONE HAND OUT TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE SECOND CHAKRA (SWADHISTHANA) AND USING HER DOMINANT HAND TO SENSE INTO THE CHAKRA HEAD.
Dean: “With your dominant hand, as you did in the previous session, start to “feel” the head of Swadhisthana chakra at the astral level… use your energy fingers to do this, and not your physical fingers.
Before I do this skill myself, I consciously extend my energy fingers from my physical fingers, just a few centimeters from the skin boundary, and begin to sense the chakra head… while my left hand is steady and stabilizing the chakra in space.”
DEAN WAITS WHILE LUELLA WORKS, WATCHING HER AURIC FIELD PULSATE AND STRENGTHEN AS SHE DROPS DEEPER INTO AN ENERGY HEALING “STATE”.
Dean: “And, as with all cord work, Luella, you can work and alternate between eyes open and with a softly focused gaze down at your hands… and you can close your eyes, and watch what is happening on your mind screen: through your inner viewer. You can go from one to the other… How’s that feel?”
Helen: “Fascinating, actually… (laughs)… I can feel the energy moving back and forth across my left hand. Can I start the cord untangling now?”
DR: “Yes, you can move into it at your own pace and speed.”
LUELLA CONTINUES TO STABILIZE THE CHAKRA WITH ONE HAND WHILE HER DOMINANT HAND PERFORMS THE CHAKRA CORD CLEANING TECHNIQUE.
DR: “Very good… now just one more untangling run, but this time focusing more on the left side of the chakra. This is usually (but not always) the side where the mother cord is located.”
THE CHAKRA CORD CLEANING PRACTICE SESSION CONTINUES, WITH DEAN COACHING LUELLA TO CONTINUALLY CLEAN HER OWN HAND AFTER EACH PASS ALONG THE CORD, OBSERVING GOOD ASTRAL HEALING HYGIENE.
Dean: “OK, you can know ask your client to focus on her mother, and we will clean the mother cord next.
And take your time, Luella… let your energy fingers find the mother cord. This is not a rational, linear process.. it’s an intuitive feel.”
LUELLA LOCATES HELEN’S MOTHER CHAKRA CORD, AND DEAN VERIFIES SHE HAS IT.
Dean: “Now, before you move on just spend a little time with the cord, like you are just resting your fingers on someones arm and then pick things up about their general state. Sense into the quality of the connection between Helen and her mother… and before we go ahead and do some cleaning.”
Luella: “There’s a solidity about this cord. I’d say, a hardness…it’s very firm.”
DEAN THEN ENCOURAGES LUELLA TO DEEPEN HER OWN CONNECTION WITH THE CORD BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE CHAKRA CORD CLEANING PROTOCOL.
Dean: “Give yourself a few more minutes, Luella… give yourself some time to get whatever sensory information you can get from this cord. And, information about the relationship with her mother.”
Luella: “It seems to me the mother is quite strong…”
Dean: “Yes… now, allow your fingers to dip beneath the surface of this “hard” personality.. dip beneath the surface of the outer layer of the cord, and go a little deeper inside.”
Luella: “There seems to be fear there… ”
Dean: “Now, Luella, without thinking: switch to “Past Life Mode”; get curious about the past life connection between Helen and her mother. You are simply switching your intention while remaining connected deep inside the cord… looking for unfinished business from a previous life.”
LUELLA EXAMINES THE CORD
Dean: “Stay deeply connected to the cord, Luella… And you don’t have to recover all the information available at a conscious level right now, in this moment.. often information is downloaded into us and processed later. Right now your conscious mind does not have to do the processing, only the focusing…
Great: now you can move into cleaning the mother cord, the same technique as before.
Cord cleaning is a tactile experience… your energy fingers are wrapped around the three-dimensional surface of the cord, and you remove the tarnish, the surface astral gunk, with your energy fingers. Then you do the astral gunk release… good, yes, that’s right. Nice work. Very good control.”
DEAN WATCHES LUELLA WORK FOR A WHILE, AND THEN ASKS HER TO START WORKING WITH “SELF CORDS”, AND DEEPEN THEIR CONTACT WITH THE CHAKRA.
Dean: “Working with chakra self-cords is a very intuitive process, as the cords are very tiny… stay focused on your energy hands, on the flow in the chakra. Your rational mind steps to one side, and you let your intuitive mind runs the show.”
LUELLA WORKS FOR FIVE MINUTES ON THE SELF-CORDS, AND THEN IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON TO NEXT PART OF THE HEALING.
Dean: “So, let’s move to that place (in her solar plexus) that Helen pointed out to us, at the start of the healing. Bring your hands to the edge of the chakra and do whatever closure you’d like to do, just go ahead. It can be a blessing, or whatever you like to do at this point in your healing work with clients.”
LUELLA PERFORMS A WONDERFUL ENERGY HEALING BLESSING, TO BRING CLOSURE TO WORKING WITH THE MOTHER CORD, AND THEN MOVES TO HELEN’S SOLAR PLEXUS.
Dean: “Good, now once you have contact with the solar plexus chakra go into exploratory mode… let your energy fingers feel around.. looking around… checking out what is happening here before we go in deeper.
Now extend your energy fingers down into her body… see if you can track how this invasive chakra cord is getting into the chakra head, what it’s doing and where it’s going.”
Luella: “Yes, right about there…”, as she locates the entry point of the invasive cord entering Helen’s Hrit (solar plexus) chakra.
Dean: “It looks (to me) like it enters there and goes down into the chakra body, and deep into her gastric system. I’m surprised Helen doesn’t have some kind of gastric distress (or related symptoms) as the cord goes right into the pyloric sphincter…
This is probably a hereditary invasive cord; passed down through her family.
We all have different ways we like to control others, to invade, to over ride our will onto another, so this particular invasive cord goes right into the stomach.. and creates a tension, a high level of anxiety… sometimes it leads to gastric problems. But we are going to start loosening that cord… and at another point you can take the cord out.”
LUELLA CONTINUES TO EXPLORE THE INVASIVE CHAKRA CORD
Dean: “There are cords that connect us, there are cords that bind us, and there are cords that try to control us. This cord here is a very unconscious cord.. it has a hereditary pattern.”
Luella: “So would Helen’s mother have had this same kind of cord experience from someone else?”
Dean: “Yes… her mother’s equivalent cord was probably implanted in the same way. Not everyone is as conscious, or does consciousness-raising work, as we do. Everyone has their habitual ways of cording and connecting… these cords get passed down the family line like genes… and passed on from generation to generation.
Luella, let’s do one thing before we finish… take your dominant hand and find where this invasive cord enters the solar plexus chakra.
It’s a little bit like root canal work. You know, how the surgeon goes down into each nerve root?”
Luella: “I think it’s right about here…”.
Dean: “Now, your psychic focus has to get very, very fine, like your energy fingers become micro-tweezers. And extend your “tweezers” down… into the chakra head surface… and see if the edges of your tweezers can find the invasive cord.
You need to (continually) stabilize the chakra with your non-dominant hand, while extending your “energy tweezers” down with your dominant hand. It’s like taking a tiny splinter out with tweezers, or like plucking a tiny hair. But first you have to find the cord down there, sloshing around in all the astral mucus.
And your conscious intention, Luella, is to take out an invasive cord, but only if the cord is doing harm to the client. So you are programing your psychic faculties, your “focusing device” (Ajna chakra) to zero in and find the right cord.
Invasive cords are usually dark, or reddish-looking, but if you don’t see color just trust your intuitive sense.”
LUELLA LOCATES THE INVASIVE CHAKRA CORD.
Dean: “We’re just practicing right now, and it might take a couple of attempts to get this out.. so for now just clamp on to the end of the cord .. and just give it a little tweak.. see if you can (slowly) pull it out.. let’s make sure the chakra head surface is not getting ripped as you pull on the cord.
You’ll need to run a little more grounding energy (because all your energy is going right now into focusing) so start to build prana… open up your root chakra, feel your feet…and continue pulling on the cord a little more.
Chakra cord work is a combination of focus, of practice, and of power.
I think the other end of this cord is wrapped around something, maybe an organ. So, right now we are practicing…no need to do everything today. We’ll come back to it next time.”
Luella: (bends over to listen to her client): “Helen thinks it might be wrapped around her spine.”
Dean: “It could very well be, actually. Yes, this is a deep cord, a hereditary cord.. it’s not going to just pop out first time around. This will take a few sessions to remove, or resolve.
So, I want to energetically “bookmark” this cord, so we can return to it. Just like you bookmark a web page in your browser… make a note of it so you can find it next time.
This particular cord has one or more fish hooks, or branches, and is holding on to something, and so we will need to go into her energy anatomy and loosen those branches.
So, let’s get ready to close… just clean the cord first. Because it still has a lesson (to teach us). All invasive cords have lessons to teach us.. just like viruses and bacteria are not essentially bad: they do strengthen us, so we don’t just stamp an invasive cord as “bad” or “evil” and pull it out. We want to help it bring awakening into Helen’s system, even by it’s removal.
So, going into closure, first the chakra itself, and then by backing away from the body, and moving back out to the auric energy field boundary itself.”
LUELLA DOES A WONDERFUL CLOSURE OF THE HEALING, COMBINING THE NEEDS OF THE CHAKRA CORD HEALING WITH HER OWN UNIQUE HEALING STYLE.
Final Comments: This healing ran a little longer than an hour, as we extended it to include questions and answers. Luella also confided at the end of the session that she suspected a slave/slave-owner influence in this cord, possibly that the cord is resonating (at an archetypal level) with this common relational issue. We will explore this possibility at subsequent sessions. Finally, there was a short discussion about chakra cord grafting, a relational energy healing skill where success in a previous lifetime is psychically “grafted” onto the present-life cord, thereby stimulating healthy re-growth in the current lifetime for the client.
Luella writes about her Video Tutoring Sessions with Dean
“When I started the sessions with Dean, I was at the point of being ready for a new challenge and new ways to enhance my healing practice. I had the feeling there were parts of me that were not being used or accessed in my healing work, and I was open to learning how to tap into these potentials. The work in Relational Energy that Dean described, sounded very interesting so I registered for sessions over Skype. Because my situation at home was such that traveling to a workshop was very difficult, sessions over Skype seemed like an excellent alternative even though a completely new experience for me.
These sessions have continued usually once a week for the last year and have consisted of a mix of lecture and discussion, practice with invited clients and healings for myself. This weekly frequency has worked well for me as it keeps the material always present. Each session on Skype has been recorded and I have found that to be almost essential. This means that I do not have to take notes during the session, and then later in the week I review what was discussed and presented and make my own notes.
Skype is an excellent medium for this kind of instruction. With the teaching spread out over time, in small increments, it has been easier to absorb and integrate the material. Then there is the convenience of working from my own home without the necessity or expense of travel. I have come to appreciate very much the teaching format of one on one, with the ability to ask questions when they surface, without competition from other students. This format also allows the information to be tailored specifically to my needs.
This program of study has been very valuable in helping me develop new skills and concepts that have served to expand my healership. The content of the lectures has been wide ranging in covering the aspects of Relational Energy, both cord work and working with the Astral realm while taking into account the developmental aspects of human consciousness. Beginning at an elementary level, the information has gradually increased in complexity and depth. Dean is continually monitoring to make sure the material is understood and grasped. The inclusion of practice clients and healings for myself has added greater richness to the whole.
Being guided through a healing while Dean directs and monitors the session over Skype has been a new and fascinating experience for both myself and my clients and provides an immediate way to put the material to use. Over the course of several different practice clients I have gained a sense of how to use different approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual and how effective this work can be in totally different situations. In addition to the practice clients, I have used cord and astral work with my regular clients and the feedback received from them has confirmed the effectiveness of this work through the change that has surfaced in their lives. If issues and questions arise with these clients then I have the opportunity to bring those to the next session with Dean. Having this work spread out over the course of the year has, from my perspective, greatly contributed to the effectiveness that I have experienced in both receiving and giving healings.
The energy healings that I have received have given me insight into how Relational Energy works in practice and can affect an individual’s life. In these healings for myself I have found that this work enhances my own inner process and complements other personal and process work I am doing. Space is opened up for something new to come in and that has also been the effect for my clients.
The work is subtle and unobtrusive and not dramatic or cathartic. It is only later as I look back, that I realize how much has changed. For me personally this has been a year of learning and growing and going deeper within myself. Dean has been unfailingly supportive and insightful as I have continued to deal with major issues in my life. There is a flexibility and adaptability in his teachings that keeps everything flowing in an organic and connected manner. The three components to this study, lecture and discussion, practice clients and personal energy healings have each contributed in their own way to my own self exploration and have consistently complemented and enhanced other aspects of my personal process.”
